| This handbook on womens human rights is an integrated set of 14 teaching and learning units. Together, they are designed to identify key issues in womens human rights, define concepts, outline different methodologies for achieving womens human rights, and offer a wide range of activities to facilitate teaching, learning, and discussion of womens human rights challenges. Included in every chapter are a statement of key objectives, background information, discussion questions, special issue boxes, strategies and examples for taking action, and learning activities. Also included are key UN documents and international law bearing on womens human rights. Handouts, checklists, assessment forms, and activist organizations round out the range of reference materials provided. The units focus on women's human rights in the family, on human rights of young women and girls, of refugee, displaced and war-affected women, on women's human rights to health, to reproduction and sexuality, to freedom from violence, to an adequate standard of living, to education, on women's human rights and globalization, on women's human rights and work and on women's human rights in politics, public life and the media. | |
